I'll say it right up front, for me, there's nothing quite like
the tone of a real B-3 growling through an old Leslie cabinet. In the hands of a master,
it can melt your soul. The latest release from the undisputed king of the B-3 is a stellar
example of tone and soul. The production is flawless, and the core band is devastating.
The list of guest artists is equally impressive. Featuring blues legends Etta James on a
blazing version of "I just wanna make love to you", Dr. John Rebennack on
"Only in it for the money", B.B. King on "Three O'clock Blues", Taj
Mahal on "Strut", and Keb Mo on "Over and Over". Jaw dropping tunes
with phenomenal talent equals a winner destined to be one of the first authentic blues
classics of the twenty first century. A must have for every blues collection. |
