Robben Ford
Supernatural
Blue Thumb Records |
|
Robben Ford has always impressed his slick songwriting and
tasty guitar licks. He never seems to run out of fresh ideas, and new ways to inject a
hearty dose of blues drenched guitar into an upbeat jazzy feel. This is not a straight
blues recording. It is a testament of what an inspired and talented tunesmith can do with
the proper tools. This CD takes us on a smooth musical ride from the Stevie Wonder-esque
title track "Supernatural", take a turn onto Bruce Hornsby Street with
"Water for the Wicked", to the tender "Don't lose your faith in me".
There is a vast palette of influences he draws from to craft songs that are Robben Ford
through and through. It seems that the radio stations have overlooked his talents for much
too long. I hope that someday he will get the notoriety that has been long overdue. |
