Pittsburgh Blues Society Review
The Roger Girke Band
My Baby Loves That Stuff

Teletone Records
When I receive CD's for review, the package will usually tell a great deal of what is contained within. This CD was all that and more. It was very professional in every sense. Their super tight rhythm section features Jimmy Pritchard working the bottom end and on drums Ian Greaves adding lots of sparkle and snap.

I have had the pleasure to work with Jimmy on several occasions. I know that he is a great player, and a real nice guy. There were many nights that he worked with the Randy Lippincott Band or the Paul Nelson Blues Band and on each occasion his performance was nothing less than stellar.

I have said it before, and I'll say it again because it's worth repeating: the guys from the Del-Mar-Va-Pa region are monsters of their craft. Roy Buchanon, Delbert McClinton, Danny Gatton, Billy Price, and the Nighthawks have called this place their home. The Roger Girke Band is a great example of the kind of musicians that come from this area. You can tell they are having fun the instant you hear them. This quality comes through loud and clear on this release.

Roger Girke fronts his band with solid vocals, and tasty guitar. Joe Lasorte adds some more flavor with his own guitar as well. Then there's Glenn Bickel on keys, Pete Mayforth on sax. Factor in their wicked rhythm section and you've got the recipe for FUN! These guys ROCK! Don't miss your chance to see The Roger Girke Band. These guys pump out a hearty dose of house-rockin blues.
